📏 How to correctly measure your dog to choose the right size?
For your dog's harness or collar to be comfortable and safe, it's very important to measure them correctly. Use a soft tailor's tape measure, and the dog should stand in a natural position during measurement.
🐕 HARNESS – measuring the neck and chest
You need two measurements for the correct harness size:
1. Neck circumference (front part)
Measure the lower part of the neck – where the front part of the harness will sit (not too high up like with a collar).
2. Chest circumference
Measure the widest part of the chest, right behind the front paws.
The tape measure should be flat and not too tight. There should also be space for two fingers here.
⚠️ Important: The harness must be snug enough not to slip, but it should not be too tight or restrict movement.
🦴 COLLAR – measuring neck circumference
1. Measure the neck circumference where the dog usually wears a collar (somewhere in the middle of the neck).
2. The tape measure should be snug against the skin, but not too tight.
3. There should be room for two fingers between the neck and the tape measure – this ensures the collar won't be too tight.
👉 If the dog is between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
🐾 LEASH
When choosing a leash, consider:
1. The dog's size and strength.
2. The purpose of use (walk, training, running).
3. The desired leash length and width.
For larger and stronger dogs, we recommend wider and more robust leashes.
